- Double-weighted statement
- This 100,000 word book is submitted for double weighting due to its inherently international subject-matter. Research required working in a diverse and widely located archives, as well as studies of buildings in eight countries. Work was conducted in London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dublin, Brussels, Mons, Geneva, Zurich, Paris, and New York over a five-year period, requiring consultation of texts in four different languages. Correspondence was conducted with scholars in Italy, Belgium, France, India, Singapore, Germany, USA and Australia. The result is the first book that synthesises and re-thinks the ethic of internationalism in architecture from a properly international research basis.
