- This BBSRC funded research is the first to demonstrate that an appropriate pre-treatment is an important step for chemocatalytic or biocatalytic conversion of lignin into feedstock or high-value aromatic chemicals and hence add substantial value to the generation of chemicals from biomass. A number of bodies around the world have taken up this work, e.g. Fiberight Ltd (https://doi.org/10.1021/acssuschemeng.7b02575 (contact: dhivyapuri@fiberight.co.uk) and Key Laboratory of Agro-products Postharvest Handing Ministry of Agriculture, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Engineering.
