- The first to provide a theoretical framework for linear general type-2 fuzzy systems to realise the first end-to-end Computing With Words (CWW) real-world application. This opens the way towards seamless interaction between humans and computers where computers will have ability to manipulate perceptions via words. The research has a deep academic impact on computing with words (Muhuri,India) and type-2 fuzzy sets (Beke,Turkey), (Su,China). The work resulted in the first real-world smart-cooker with PCT patent awarded (https://patentscope.wipo.int/search/en/detail.jsf?docId=WO2016087921&_cid=P22-KKIN3C-90986-3) saving 20% energy, maximising comfort and safety. Published in IEEE-TFS (the top fuzzy systems journal), excellence is also evidenced by the UKCI'15-conference best-paper award.
