- ‘Art in the Making’ emphasises the importance of process in contemporary art, insisting on the critical relevance of physical creation and examining nine types of making. The book was co-authored by Professor Glenn Adamson and art historian Julia Bryan-Wilson. Adamson and Bryan-Wilson wrote in an intensely collaborative way, as a conscious reflection of the work’s shared authorship. While the two authors never lived closer together than five time zones while writing, they employed techniques of shared research materials and unconstrained over-writing as a way to ensure their voices were fully intermingled.
