- This article combines Chavez's “extreme pivoting” technique developed at CICESE, Ensenada, Mexico with our own four-point property to give a very fast pre-search linear filter over metric search spaces. An invitation to submit an extended version of this conference paper to the Information Systems journal resulted from a Programme Committee rating as one of the top five papers of the conference. Submitted in May 2020, favourable reviewer comments were received in November 2020 and its resubmission is in progress.
