- Author contribution statement
- The author was an invited to GBD design meetings in Harvard and at the World Bank in 2008/9 and made substantial contribution to the conception and design of the study, particularly relating to measurement of the burden of injuries that influenced the final design and metrics (see 10.1371/journal.pmed.1000001). He has since made many contributions to the refinement and assessment of metrics provided on the IHME tools, particularly the 2013 nature of injury revisions, the coding and analyses of UK datasets, attended many meetings and contributed to drafts. He also critiqued the output for important intellectual content, including acknowledgement of limitations
