- Double-weighted statement
- I would like my 25,000-word article ‘Francis Bacon's doctrine of idols: a diagnosis of “universal madness”’ to be double-weighted because it entailed the analysis of over 50 complex philosophical texts, written by Bacon and also some of his contemporaries, as well as some influential ancient thinkers. Also extending the time to research and write it, was the use of a new methodology that involved painstakingly piecing together fragments of Bacon's texts dispersed throughout his entire oeuvre over a 10-year period of investigation. I had to translate many of Bacon's Latin texts which further prolonged the research and writing process.
