- The first publication to study the user experience of an integrated approach to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, via a unique platform combining face-to-face contact, online collaboration, and support for between-session activities. The 11-month pragmatic user study treating 17 severely depressed patients showed how design decisions had significant impact on dynamics of therapeutic sessions and establishment of patient-therapist relationships. Received CHI Honourable Mention award (Top 5% of submissions). Insights fed directly into design of an online CBT system in a 2 year medical trial with over 100 patients (NIHR RP-PG-0514-20012). Interdisciplinary collaboration between computer scientists and researchers in mental health.
