- Reid's edited book reassessing the myth and the reality of Andrew Melville, defender of the 1560 Reformation settlement, during James VI and I’s reign, is largely REID’s design. He organised the 2009 Glasgow conference from which all paper givers have been included. REID contributes two book sections, plus a lengthy Melville bibliography, and co-authored the Introduction. REID assembles the key young scholars in the Melville field, led by REID himself, plus Mason. Ranging from History to Theology, this book was in large part a REID production.
