- This research led to the development of a path planning software for the wire + arc additive manufacturing process (WAAMPlanner) commercialised by WAAM3D (https://waam3d.com/), a Cranfield spin-out established in 2018. The software has been used by industry including the AFRC, Weir, FMC, Guaranteed and Steelo. In 2020, WAAM3D raised a £1.5M investment from Accuron Technologies, Singapore (CEO, WAAM3D; Contact Details: Audit_file_23495056). Further development of this software contributed to the InnovateUK HPWAAM Project (£1.22M, 53610), and MultiFun, an EU project on a minimally-invasive system to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment (€13.15M, 262943).
