- Waste plastics can be converted to plastic pyrolysis oil, which has the potential to be used in internal combustion engines. The results provided the evidence that plastic pyrolysis oil is a promising alternative fuel, and has been referenced by a large number of academic and industry groups (cited by 110 different institutions, source: Scopus). The output provided the critical scientific data to help Thermitech Solutions Ltd develop their first commercial-scale plant in the Netherlands (contact: gareth.jones@thermitech.co.uk).
