- Sextou (2016) is a monograph that demonstrates sustained research effort of collecting and analysing data across clinical NHS sites (12 hospital wards) over 6 years. It presents world leading, cutting-edge research about the impact of bedside theatre on hospitalized children’s wellbeing. The study was extended, multi-scaled, complex and extremely time-consuming. The book investigates in depth the qualities of ethical artistic interventions and compassionate experiences in illness. “Sextou deeply and rigorously engages with some of the most problematic issues in applied theatre. […] The book is argument-based on detailed research.” (O’Connor’s review in ATR, 2017, 5:1, pp.55-56).
