- Clinical simultaneous PET/MR imaging systems show promise for a range of oncological applications, but their application to breast cancer has been hampered through lack of dedicated coils needed for adequate patient positioning. This work, in collaboration with RAPID Biomedical, developed hardware and software to provide a new coil solution specific for simultaneous breast PET/MR. It is now a product (https://www.rapidbiomed.de/product/pet-mr-breast-array-for-diagnostic-imaging/), and based on its design additional coils for other applications are now being developed, e.g. a carotid coil (https://www.rapidbiomed.de/product/6-channel-pet-mr-carotid-array/) funded by the German Federal Ministry for Ecnomic Affiairs and Energy (info@rapidbiomed.de).
