- This book addresses the limited take-up of Pierre Bourdieu’s work in the field of educational leadership, management and administration. It offers a new and detailed, critical exploration of dominant trends in ELMA and shows how Bourdieusian theory and “thinking tools” can offer new ways of conceptualising ELMA research. Case studies exemplify how the use of Bourdieu can lead to different research questions, designs and methods and thus shed new light on familiar ELMA topics. The book advocates the use of social theory in ELMA and makes a substantial and significant contribution to critical ELMA approaches.
