- Charlton was Spokesperson of the ATLAS Collaboration (international PI) during the years 2013-2017. As such, he was responsible for all of the scientific output of the collaboration. He took a particularly close interest in steering key measurements such as this and in negotiating the terms of the data combination with sister experiment, CMS. He was personally involved with ensuring that the review of the combination was carried out effectively and with agreement from both collaborations.
