- This paper introduces a flood inundation model, from the EPSRC project EP/H015736/1 (£425k). The model has been adapted for commercial use and sold to the globally largest reinsurance company (Munich Re) (contact Nicola Pasquale NPasquale@munichre.com) and has been taken forward via a KTP project with ICS consulting (£140k, Number:9721) and used to assess the risk of flooding for several UK water companies. The tool has been shortlisted for the Water Industry Innovation award 2017. In 2019, the evidence produced by this model enabled Torbay Council to secure £3.4m Environment Agency funding for new coastal defence scheme (contact: dave.stewart@tda.uk.net).
