- Double-weighted statement
- We have requested double weighting for this output because in terms of research effort it required a sustained postdoctoral research effort of four years (2010-14), building on Bintley’s doctoral research in this area (2007-10). It represents an extended and complex piece of research as a consequence of its work across disciplinary boundaries. It required the collection and analysis of data across several allied fields in the study of early medieval England and Scandinavia, including literary-historical studies, archaeology and art history, bringing together forms of data including Old English and Latin texts, material culture, and visual arts (stone sculpture and illuminations).
