- This 357-page book is the result of 20 years of research that collected and analysed complex and difficult to access primary written and visual archival material from Eastern and Western Europe, the United States and Latin America. The sources include physical objects and ephemeral material of a wide spectrum (from fliers and newspaper ads to conceptual art pieces). The investigation also explores different perspectives, notably from modernist architecture, literature and visual arts. It presents an in-depth, multi-layered, trans- and interdisciplinary approach to recurring local and cosmopolitan discussions on contemporaneity and ‘ultramodernism’ from the 1920s up to 2005.
