- Framing the European Union draws upon an extensive body of original primary research material conducted in six European countries. It adopts an innovative mixed methods approach, creatively integrating insights from public opinion data, interviews and media analysis. At the core of this analysis are 140 in-depth interviews conducted with campaigners in European-level referendums in many different countries (including MPs, party strategists, party spokespeople, civil society organisations and EU officials). The sustained research effort that underpins the book provides a genuinely comparative resource base which is unmatched anywhere else within the existing literature on this or closely related topics
