- This book (512 pages, 431 illustrations, 46 contributors) is based on a substantial programme of excavation, survey and research over twenty years. It reports on and synthesises eight separate field projects, followed by integrated analysis of chronology, artefacts and environmental evidence across the whole study region. In doing so it publishes and synthesises a huge quantity of primary data, including a suite of published and unpublished C14 dates from across Orkney, including 40 new ones.
