- I was responsible for convening the ‘Classics in Extremis’ seminar series and conference which led to the publication of this edited volume. I defined the scope and objectives of the project, and the overall contribution which it aimed to make to the discipline. Following the seminar series and conference, I selected contributors for the edited volume, and worked with all contributors on at least one full redraft of their chapter, prior to submission to the publishers. I also wrote a substantial introduction, which drew the threads of the volume together and set out its agenda and ambitions, as well as an additional chapter for the volume.
