- Double-weighted statement
- This volume is the primary output of the project ‘English in Europe: Opportunity or Threat?’ funded by the Leverhulme Trust (2012-14). Linn was responsible for the overall design of the volume and had full editorial control to ensure stylistic consistency throughout. He was solely responsible for Chapter 1 (1-11), chapters 6 and 7 (201-263) and sections 2.1, 2.2, 2.6, 3.9, 4.6 and 5.3. Chapter 6, ‘The Nordic Experience’ (27,000 words), brings together his extensive research on language planning and English in Scandinavia and is the outcome of eight years of research beginning with a Leverhulme Fellowship in Bergen in 2008.

- Additional information
- This volume comprises 7 chapters including contributions from 18 co-authors, all invited to contribute by Linn who had proposed the book to the publisher. It is the sixth and final volume arising from the project ‘English in Europe: Opportunity or Threat?’, funded by the Leverhulme Trust from 2012 to 2014 with Linn as Principal Investigator, and was published in the new De Gruyter Mouton ‘English in Europe’ series, set up to support these volumes. As well as contributing three of the seven chapters in the volume (1, 6, 7), and six subsections in the remaining four chapters, Linn prepared the whole manuscript, including formatting, references (265-315) and index.
