- This paper describes the fusion of depth information from binocular stereo and time-of-flight sensors, to achieve improved spatial resolution and depth accuracy. It was the outcome of an industrial collaboration with the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology, South Korea (O. Choi, SAIT) and INRIA Rhone Alpes, France. The algorithm was deployed on a multi-camera system, which was delivered to the industrial partners. Author MH is extending this 3D sensor fusion research to millimetre wave radar, as a co-investigator in the EPSRC National Centre for Nuclear Robotics (EP/R02572X/1). Author GE became a lead research scientist (www.snap.com).
