- This research linking Life Cycle Assessment and Lean Manufacturing for redesigning plastic products contributed a blueprint for making plastic products more environmentally friendly. It led to a research award by Glasgow City Council (£7k) to support evaluation of environmental impacts of remanufactured aluminium alloy street light housing. The corresponding author was invited to Chair a session in Challenges and Opportunities of Clean Technology in Production Engineering at the International Conference on Sustainable Design and Manufacturing (SDM-17, Bologna, Italy, 2017). The work was developed in collaboration with an industrial partner Paramit (Malaysia) Sdn, Bhd (Mr Lim: limck7356@gmail.com).
