- This paper was important in securing two research grants from the EPSRC: 1) the Global Challenge Research Frame (GCRF) Institutional Funds (£80k) for the project ‘Low-cost high-performance solar energy converters for domestic/community applications in Tanzania’ to commission the Cambridge-designed solar inverter in Mwanza, Tanzania where more than 70% households have no reliable electricity; 2) GCRF grant on ‘Affordable Perovskite Solar Irrigation Systems for Small-holder Farmers in Ethiopia (APSISSFE)’ (EP/T02030X/1, £938k with £350k to Long group), collaborating with Bahir Dar University in Ethiopia.
