- The title of the book is not misleading: this substantial volume (91pp + 442pp) includes over 200 poems, more than 90% of which were previously unpublished and largely unknown. They derive from archival manuscripts first identified by Dadson. Apart from the complexity of transcription and editing (especially when different ms versions exist), Dadson deals with problems of attribution. Dadson?s detailed introductory study (91pp) covers the poems and provides further information, not just on Salinas, but especially on Leonor Pimentel. The depth of the editorial work is clear: Dadson?s notes to each poem include deletions, variants, context, references, and interpretations.
