- Leprosy and a Life constitutes a longer-form output, based on around 40 hours of biographical interviews conducted during multi-sited fieldwork in 2009 and 2011, as well as three decades of work in India. A narrative ethnography—written with an ethical commitment to present something accessible to those worked with—the book also strives to enable academic readers to make connections with broader theoretical concerns, in so doing making a substantial contribution to the ethnographic record of South Asia as well as to wider discussions about anthropological methods and styles of ethnographic writing.
