- Proposes a model for the response of clays to loads that takes into account anisotropy, structural effects, and time-dependency. The model has been implemented into commercial software Plaxis (www.plaxis.com). The model is a result of an international collaboration (Minho, Portugal; UBC, Canada) and a research outcome of a Nottingham Dean of Engineering Award and NSERC grant. It led to an invited presentation at the 2016 Embankment Prediction Symposium organised by Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Geotechnics.
