- Spiekermann and Goodin worked on An Epistemic Theory of Democracy from 2013 to 2017. The book contains 21 chapters on 370 pages, with 80% of the material published for the first time. It is a work of complex nature because it combines positive and normative political theory with computational simulations (all coded by Spiekermann). It is also underpinned by a large body of literature in political science and social choice theory. It is ambitious in its range , covering both mathematical foundations and institutional and political implications.
