- Originality: This is the first paper to begin assessing the extent and condition of several newly-discovered areas of blanket bog in northern Spain. It forms part of an ongoing series of research publications as this region is surveyed for its important peatland areas. Rigour: The survey methods are well-established, though novel in its use of terrestrial laser scanning for high-level peatlands. Significance: The work has encouraged the local authorities to initiate conservation measures and balance the peatland significance against proposed windfarm developments. Lindsay helped to shape the original nature of the survey, then contributed sections of text throughout the document.
