- Double-weighted statement
- This 98,000 word book is the first to offer a detailed analysis of twenty-first century Black British playwriting through closely analysing 22 plays, their productions and critical reception with an emphasis on the contemporary social and political issues to which they respond. Research required extensive primary archival research as well as detailed sociological reading to advance this book's discussion of the themes of contemporary Black British playwriting with a thorough assessment of the theatrical contexts and sociological critical frameworks required to understand their impact.
