- Developed and produced under the coordination of ESS HQ (Ryan is member of the HQ Core Scientific Team), fielded in 30 countries between 2018 -2019, ESS Round 9 (18,390 user downloads) contains just under 50,000 cases and 572 variables. Documented in a 251-page report, it covered 11 topics. Using strict random probability sampling and hour-long face-to-face interviews, it included core and rotating modules on justice and fairness in Europe and timing of life. ESS HQ organised the call for and selection of rotating modules, an extended period of question design, development, pre-testing and administration, data cleaning, deposit and release.
