- This 95k words book is based on 4 years of doctoral work, and several years of postdoctoral work, including: 11 months archival research into several kilometers of microfilm copies of Félix Arnaudin’s hand-written manuscripts, and genealogical and contextual research in departmental archives to identify hundreds of his ethnographic informants; The construction of a database of the informants, linking them to the materials they contributed, including materials that were mis-catalogued or not reproduced in the definitive version of Arnaudin’s complete works that appeared in the early 2000s; the pursuit of the theme of the body from multiple theoretical and empirical angles.
