- The author of the chapter which presents a first insight into an ongoing empirical study on spirituality and wellbeing in Brazil is also the main editor of the volume. Supported by the co-editor Leonardi, Schmidt recruited the contributors to the volume which come from a range of disciplines such as theology, anthropology, study of religions, psychology, parapsychology, and history. The book represents a range of approaches to the study of spirituality and wellbeing, linked to different religious and spiritual traditions. In addition to the chapter, Schmidt also co-wrote the introduction with Leonardi which presents a definition of spirituality and discusses its link to wellbeing.
