- This paper led to follow on funding of £722k by Innovate UK. The funding had the support from the Department for International Development under the Agri-tech Catalyst Industrial Research strategy (UKRI, Monitoring Officer at Innovate UK). The project was completed in collaboration with Seawater Greenhouse Ltd in 2018 (Greenhouse Ltd, CEO) and currently operates based on the results of the numerical simulations developed in this paper. The design proposed here has been constructed full-scale for commercial piloting in Somaliland which led on to the Shell Springboard Carbon Innovation Award (2018) to Seawater Greenhouse Ltd worth £40,000.
