- This work represents the first attempt to facilitate distributed virtual machine management as opposed to the conventional centralised SDN approach. The proposed distributed approach has influenced considerable further research work, e.g., conducted in the Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems (CLOUDS) Laboratory at the University of Melbourne in Australia (https://doi.org/10.1109/TPDS.2018.2855119). Also, the early version of the work received the Best Paper Award from the CLOUDNET 2014 conference.
