- Additional information
- This output comprises the latter two volumes of a three-volume translation of the thirteenth-century Icelandic history Heimskringla (the first volume predates the REF period and was submitted at REF2014). The text is based on the standard Icelandic edition from 1941-51. Finlay was primarily responsible for translating and annotating the complex skaldic verses which are intercalated throughout the prose text and served as a source for it. Finlay and her co-translator (who was responsible for the prose) scrutinised each other’s translations and harmonised them. Finlay wrote the introductions to both volumes.
