- This paper proposed a novel numerical time-varying adaptation approach to sediment transport to model its impact on open channel flow. This approach uses dynamic transport adaptation characteristic to predict precisely the sediment behaviour in flow, and it has been proven to improve simulation for a wide-range of rapid (transient) to steady sediment transport. In water resources usage, the proposed approach can be used to reproduce sediment transport under fast or slow-moving flow conditions, and can efficiently predict the environmental sediment-based pollutant transport.
