- This paper proposes a MMMOPF-based planning approach which considers operational status and dispatched energy of Wind Turbines (WTs). This paper is significant because prior to this work no stochastic method for the planning of active distribution networks within a distribution market environment considering multiple-WT configurations and capability curve of DFIG-based WTs and ANM schemes had been reported. It formed the basis for setting a new Smart Grids Research Lab at the University. This work resulted from a British Council funded project. The work led to continuing collaboration with IIT Madras and has underpinned two subsequent grant proposals (EPSRC, Lloyds Foundation).
