- Double-weighted statement
- This book of 135,000 words is the result of 12 years’ research, requiring visits to a number of archives in the US (including residential fellowships at New York Public Library, the New-York Historical Society, the Smithsonian, and the Baker Library of Harvard Business School). The research involved consulting a wide range of materials, some of which were hard to access as they were in scattered collections and in poor condition (e.g. financial advice manuals). The research also necessitated gaining familiarity with a number of different disciplinary methods, including economic and business history, as well as visual, literary and cultural studies.
