- The paper presents the concept, implementation and evaluation of a novel cloud agnostic queuing system and its integration with a cloud application-level orchestration and auto-scaling framework. The research is significant as the resulting solution supports the execution of large number of jobs in containerised cloud environments enforcing deadline-based execution policies and providing an important step towards the cost optimisation of such applications. The solution has been successfully applied in industry case-studies within the COLA (https://project-cola.eu/) and CloudiFacturing (https://www.cloudifacturing.eu/) European projects and beyond, including for example Saker Solutions Ltd (contact: Shane Kite CEO - shane.kite@sakersolutions.com).
