- This work, for the first time, proposes a System Dynamics model to investigate the impact of social behaviours on the sustainable packaging industry. The research project was jointly sponsored by Saudi Arabia Higher Education Ministry (https://www.moe.gov.sa/en/pages/default.aspx) and European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)-Interreg IVB North West Europe Programme (WEASTflows project, 2011-2015, €700k of €9m to LJMU). The work was invited to be presented at 19th IAPRI International Conference on Packaging (IAPRI, June 15-18, 2014, Melbourne, Australia). The Saudi Printing and Packaging Company used the research findings to improve their packing products through consideration of customers’ behaviours (M.A. Abdulrahman-Alesia, Director, m.a.aalesia@sppc.com.sa).
