- This monograph of approx. 90,000 words represents five years of extensive comparative and interdisciplinary research and analysis. It combines theoretical, empirical and comparative analysis, drawing on historical institutionalism, along with theoretical literature in political science and sociology, to understand and explain the shaping of individual bankruptcy reforms in the US and Europe, as well as recent international developments through the World Bank and European Union. Its critical comparative analysis is based not only on library and archival sources but also interviews with policymakers and relevant interest groups in the US, UK, France and Sweden.
