- The analysis and results in this paper helped pave the way for an innovative USD 35 million loan from the Inter-American Development Bank to the Government of The Bahamas to invest in mangrove restoration for coastal resilience (https://www.iadb.org/en/project/BH-L1043). After publication of the paper, The Bahamas was hit by the category 5 Hurricane Dorian, with disastrous consequences. The Government of The Bahamas is currently using the study as a guide in the rebuilding process, as reported by the national broadcaster ZNS Network: https://youtu.be/lCPQMb5co8A
