- Double-weighted statement
- Short-listed for multiple prizes, this book discusses the separate shootings of ten children in the USA, across eight states, within a twenty-four hour period. Based upon extensive research, including interviews, media and social media analysis, the book devotes a chapter to each child, exploring their life and death in detail, with further chapters exploring the wider picture of violence to which this (average) day belongs. Each chapter of the book presents a separate, self-contained account but the book is more than the sum of its parts as the similarities across these stories allow a ‘bigger picture’ to emerge.
