- This output collects and analyses complex primary sources, including medieval and later manuscripts written in Old Icelandic. It draws on secondary literature in multiple languages (Danish, Icelandic, Norwegian, Swedish and German, in addition to English) and spanning multiple disciplines, including philology, literary criticism, history of religions, folkloristics, archaeology and others. It runs to c. 60,000 words and is published in hardcopy and online alongside material produced by c. 50 contributors in a new edition of the full corpus of Old Norse skaldic and other poetry from the Scandinavian Middle Ages.
