- This paper demonstrates that reconsidering the data architecture of domestic IoT devices can lead to much simpler compliance with many of the legal rights enshrined in EU and UK Data Protection Law. This paper is one of the first to apply this analysis in the domestic IoT context, which presents unique challenges in meeting the data protection requirements of Privacy by Design, The Right to Data Portability and the need to obtain informed consent.
