- This monograph, published in 2019, required a sustained research effort over a period of just over ten years. It is based on the author’s PhD dissertation which was carried out from 2007 to 2012. It entailed 20 months of ethnographic fieldwork in Mexico, conducted in 2008-2009. That period of research led to a large body of data being collected which required a prolonged and complex phase of analysis.
