- The paper is novel as it proposes the first specific approach for smart road traffic control systems using the vehicle-to-infrastructure communication concept. The paper is very strong technically, with effective proposed protocols, and security and privacy solutions. As for rigour, it includes mathematical algorithms, formal verification of the security properties, as well as simulations. The topic covers one of the most relevant areas for smart city. It has been published in a top ranked Elsevier journal with the 5-year impact factor of 5.064.
