- The author conceived the idea for this experiment in collaboration with Mangles, pioneering the initial application of statistical techniques required to make this experiment work in the face of significant shot-to-shot variation in the experimental parameters. The author, jointly with Mangles, lead the initial design resulting in the award of the beam-time. The author and Blackburn lead the modelling campaign which resulted in the identification of signatures of radiation reaction. The modelling was required to compare the experimental data to the various radiation reaction models - the central result of the paper.
